Jetblue vacations – Kids pay only tax/fee on flights

Limited time offer!

Book a JetBlue Getaways vacation package by August 29 and we’ll pick up the base airfare (that’s everything but the government taxes/fees) for up to two children per room for travel September 4 through October 3, 2012.

Offer details:

  • Book by August 29, 2012
  • Travel September 4 – October 3, 2012
  • Children ages 2-11 only
  • Offer valid for a maximum of 2 children per room.  At least 1 adult must be in each room.
  • Not valid on previous bookings
  • Search for your JetBlue Getaways vacation package at jetblue.com/getaways or by calling 1-800-JETBLUE, option 3

How it works:

  • JetBlue will cover the base airfare of your eligible children. Base airfare does not include government taxes/fees, which still apply to children’s airfare.  This offer also does not include any applicable hotel costs or hotel taxes.  (Remember, all Getaways vacation packages include government taxes/fees applicable to airfare and the hotel price and hotel taxes, so these are not added charges that you will see upon checkout.  These charges will be in the price you see when you search for a Getaways vacation package.)
  • The savings you receive from this offer will not be specifically displayed upon searching for or purchasing a Getaways vacation package. The savings will be divided among all travelers on the Getaways booking. In other words, you will be quoted a lower per person cost when searching for a vacation package with a child eligible for this offer than you would if you were traveling with an adult in place of that child.
  • This offer is not valid in connection with the Cash + TrueBlue Points redemption option. Packages must be paid for using a major credit card at time of booking.
  • For general questions or to confirm your savings, please call 1-800-JETBLUE, option 3.

Accumulating more cash back rewards when you travel

Today’s guest post is from Jon Lal, founder of coupons & cash back website BeFrugal.com.

Accumulating more cash back rewards when you travel

Earning credit card rewards such as cash back is an excellent way to get more out of your purchases. They add up on your everyday transactions and make an even bigger difference when you make a large purchase such as travel. When you book online, there are ways to accumulate even more cash back and save money with a few extra clicks.

Using a promo code from an online coupon as well as earning cash back from an online shopping site are easy ways to stretch your travel dollars without sacrificing any credit card rewards. The online coupon yields immediate savings with dollars off your bill. The online shopping cash back is much like credit card cash back, as you accumulate it over time until you are ready to cash out and are awarded a portion of your transaction. Combined these elements with credit card rewards for more savings:

1. Use a coupon code when you book travel online (savings example: 20% off a $100 hotel stay = $20 saved)

2. Earn cash back (5% on your $80 total [after the 20% coupon] = $4 cash back from online booking)

3. Pay with a rewards credit card with a great cash back rate (5% on your $80 total [after that 20% coupon] = another $4 cash back from your credit card). The total savings in this example is $28 on a $100 purchase.

This is a guest post from Jon Lal, founder of coupons & cash back website BeFrugal.com and couponing & savings expert. BeFrugal.com offers travel coupons as well as cash back for online shopping at 3,000+ online stores with a current average rate of 7%. Join now for free!

Unruly passenger on Jetblue

Lately there seems to be a lot of news about unruly passengers or pilots these days.  I guess once an interesting news hits other news reporters want to find more similar stories.

Apparently, a 32 year old guy leaving from NYC to LAX starting acting very wild and strange on Jetblue.  The pilot had to divert the plane to Denver where things settled down.

Read an article about it here

And read from the passenger sitting next to him has to say about it here.

Obviously, we can’t have each and every passengers’ mental health checked out just to fly but man… this is getting ridiculous!

NYC to Tampa cheap?

Jetblue released a lot of open fares from NYC to TPA (Tampa) for only $150 round-trip. It got me thinking maybe I will take a weekend trip down there with the family.

Currently, Delta is matching the fares. There are plenty from Sept, Oct and maybe even further out. Check it out!
