This promo was available last year and I am going to do this again. Currently, American Express is having a promotion where if you sync your qualifying AMEX credit card to your Twitter account and make a purchase of $5 or more, you will receive a statement credit of $5.
What I did last year was go to McDonal’s, purchase $5 giftcards and then receive $5 statement credit back. I did this for all my qualifying AMEX cards. If you decide to do the same, you will need to create an Twitter account for each card and sync each one.
Here is the promotion
Offer Valid 9/10/12-10/31/12 in store. Offer excludes McDonald’s locations in Walmart Department Stores.
Receive a one-time $5 statement credit when you spend $5 or more 1 time in store at McDonald’s by 10/31/12. Tweet using #AmexMcDs to add this offer to your synced American Express Card. This offer does not require a coupon at the point of sale. Once you receive an “@ reply” message from our Twitter handle @amexsync that the offer has been added to your synced Card, just shop with that Card to redeem!
Offer Terms:
To be eligible to receive the statement credit:
(i) you must have an American Express Card that is synced with Twitter (see sync.americanexpress.com/twitter for more details on how to sync your Card);
(ii) you must Tweet using #AmexMcDs;
(iii) you must receive an “@ reply” message from @amexsync stating that this offer has been added to your synced Card; AND
(iv) you must use your synced Card to make a single purchase of $5 or more in store at McDonald’s by 10/31/12.
You must receive a confirmation Tweet from @amexsync stating that the offer has been added to your Card before you can redeem the offer. This confirmation Tweet will begin with your @username and will appear in your Mentions tab on the Connect page. These terms will be available to you via a link in the confirmation message. Registration is limited. Limit one (1) statement credit per Card across all American Express offer platforms. Statement credits are generally issued within 3-5 business days after your qualifying purchase, but may take up to 2 billing periods to post to your account.
